How to Reduce the Header in Word 2007

Move the Header Up
1. Click the 'Insert' tab.
2. Click the 'Header' icon; on the drop-down menu, click 'Edit Header.'
3. Click the down arrow by the 'Header from Top' field; the header will move upward, toward the page's top edge. Continue clicking the arrow until the header reaches the place you want it.
4. Click 'Close Header and Footer' on the ribbon.
Change the Margins
5. Click the 'Page Layout' tab.
6. Click the 'Margins' button, located in the Page Setup group; then click 'Custom Margins' on the drop-down menu.
7. Click the 'Down' arrow by the 'Top' field, under the heading 'Margins,' to set a new height for the header. If you set the field to 0.5, for example, then the header will take up only half an inch, instead of a whole inch.
8. Click 'OK' at the bottom of the dialog box.
