How to Align Left and Right on the Same Line of Text in Microsoft Word
1. Highlight the block of text you wish to align by dragging your mouse cursor across the text. If the selection is an entire paragraph, triple-click the paragraph to quickly select it.
2. Click the 'Page Layout' tab at the top of the Word window.
3. Enter numeric values in the 'Indent' section to indent the left or right sides of the block of text. The top field indents the left side of the text, and the bottom field indents the right side. Numbers entered are in units of inches.
4. Hold the 'Ctrl' key and press 'J' to align the left and right sides of the text. This is called 'justification.' If you wish to also align text that includes hard returns, such as the last sentence of a paragraph, then hold 'Ctrl' and 'Shift' and press 'J.'
