How to Make Greeting Cards in Word

1.
Open a blank Word document. If you are using Word 2007, go to the 'Page Layout' tab and select 'Page Setup.' If you are using Word 2003 or earlier, go to the 'File' menu and select 'Page Setup.' You can also open the Page Setup dialog by double clicking the dark area of the horizontal ruler above the Word document.
2.
Make sure you are on the 'Margins' tab. Change the Orientation to 'Landscape' and select '2 Pages Per Sheet' from the Pages section. Choose 'Whole Document' in the 'Apply To' section and click 'OK.'
3.
Press and hold the 'Ctrl' key, and then press 'Enter.' This will take you to the second page of the Word document. Do this because, when printed, the first page of the Word document will be the inside left-hand side of the greeting card, which is typically blank.
4.
Type your greeting on the second page of the Word document, which will be the inside right-hand side of the card when printed. Click the 'Center' alignment button on the formatting toolbar in Word 2000 - 2003, or in the Paragraph section of the Home tab in Word 2007, to center your text. Choose a font that is decorative in a size that is easy to read.
5.
Go to the next page of the Word document. This will be the back of the greeting card when printed. You can add text or graphics, or leave it blank by pressing 'Ctrl+Enter.' The last page will be the cover of the greeting card when printed. Insert a picture here by going to the 'Insert' tab of the ribbon in Word 2007 and selecting 'ClipArt,' or going to the 'Insert' menu in Word 2003 or earlier, pointing to 'Picture' and choosing 'ClipArt.' Find a graphic you like and insert it. You can add text as well, if you choose.
6.
Print your Word document. Go to the 'File' menu in Word 2003 or earlier, or the 'Office button' in Word 2007 and click 'Print.' In the Page Range section of the Print dialog, select 'Pages' and enter '1-2.' Click 'OK.' After the first two pages print, flip the paper over and place it back into the printer. Go back to 'Print' and select 'Pages,' then enter '3-4.' Only turn the paper over; do not rotate it, or the outside will print in an opposite direction from the inside.
