How to Set the Microsoft Word Ruler


1. Click the 'Show Ruler' button on the right side of the program's main window, above the vertical scroll bar. This will enable the rulers and make them visible.
2. Click 'File' and click 'Options.' Click 'Advanced' and scroll to the 'Display' section.
3. Click the 'Show Measurements in Units Of' drop-down box and select a unit of measure. You can choose inches, centimeters, millimeters, points or picas.
4. Click 'OK,' and your rulers will be updated with your chosen unit of measure. You can now use them to organize your document.
