How to Troubleshoot an 'MS Word Preparing to Install' Message

1. Click 'Start' and then click 'Control Panel.' Click 'Uninstall a program' under the Programs section.
2. Scroll down and find Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office and then click it. Click the 'Change' button. Your Microsoft Word or Office suite dialog box displays on screen.
3. Click the 'Repair' radio button and then click 'Continue.' Microsoft Word or Office will reconfigure itself.
4. Click 'Close' to close the dialog box and reopen Microsoft Word.
