How to Auto

1. Click on the line that you wish to indent. If you'd like to indent the first line of each paragraph for an entire document, select all by holding the CTRL key and press the A key.
2. Click on the 'Page Layout' tab to open a new set of page layout options on the ribbon.
3. Click on the paragraph dialogue box button to launch the dialogue box where you can edit line indents. The dialogue box button is at the bottom right-hand corner of the 'Paragraph' group and looks like a blue box with an arrow pointing to the bottom right.
4. Click on the 'Indents and Spacing' tab.
5. Select 'First Line' in the 'Special' list and then set the amount of desired spacing in the 'By' box. Half an inch is standard and will likely be your default spacing.
6. Click 'OK' to finish setting the first-line indent.
