How to Compress Pictures in Word 2007
1. Select any picture in an open Word document by single clicking on it so that the selection border appears around the picture. Once you've selected the picture, a new 'Picture Tools' tab will appear on the Word ribbon.
2. Click on the Picture Tools 'Format' tab and then select the 'Compress Pictures' button in the 'Adjust' group at the left edge of the Word ribbon.
3. Choose the 'Apply to selected pictures only' option in the Compress Pictures dialog box to limit the compression to the currently selected picture only. Click the 'Options' button to choose the level of compression desired by picking the resolution that is optional for viewing as a printout, on the screen or via email.
4. Click on the 'OK' button to enter the compression settings and then click on the 'OK' button again to compress the pictures based on your settings.
