How to Remove Vertical Lines on the Left Side of a Document When Using Microsoft Word

1. Open Microsoft Word, click the 'File' tab and click 'Open.' Click 'Browse.' Browse to the document with the vertical lines to remove and double-click the file name. The document opens in a Word window.
2. Scroll to the page with the vertical lines or press the 'Page Down' key to move page by page.
3. Click the 'View' tab at the top of the screen. Click 'One Page' to get the full page in view.
4. Click the vertical line on the page; it may take a few tries to click directly on the line if it is very thin. A dotted line will surround the vertical line when it is selected.
5. Press the 'Delete' key on the keyboard. Repeat for any additional vertical lines running down the left side of that page. Scroll or click 'Page Down' to get to the next appearance of the lines and delete them accordingly.
