How to Make a Deceased Cross in Microsoft Word
Shortcut Method
1. Open your document in Microsoft Word and click wherever you want the obelisk to appear.
2. Press the "Num Lock" key on your keyboard's numeric keypad, so you can type numbers with your keypad.
3. Hold the "Alt" key and type "0134" on the keypad to insert a dagger symbol, or "0135" to insert a double-dagger symbol. When you release the "Alt" key, the symbol is inserted.
4. Hold the "Shift" key and press the left arrow key to select the symbol.
5. Hold the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys and press "+" to format the symbol as a superscript.
Insert Symbol Method
6. Open Microsoft Word and click wherever you want the obelisk to appear.
7. Click the "Insert" tab, "Symbol" from the Symbols group and click "More Symbols."
8. Enter "2020" in the "Character Code" box at the bottom of the Symbol window to select the dagger symbol. Alternatively, enter "2021" to select the double dagger.
9. Click "Insert" to insert the symbol.
