How to Open a .Docx File With Microsoft Word 2000

1. Download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack installation file (see Resources).
2. Double-click the 'FileFormatConverters.exe' installation file after the download completes.
3. Follow the installation wizard's prompts to complete the Compatibility Pack installation process.
4. Open Word 2000. Click 'File,' then 'Open.'
5. Browse your computer's files for your desired .docx document, then double-click it. The document will open after the Compatibility Pack automatically converts the file, which takes a few moments.
