How to Auto Format in Word 2007


1. Open Word 2007 on your computer and then click on the 'Microsoft Office' button. Click the 'Word Options' button at the bottom of the application.
2. Click on the 'Proofing' option and then click the 'AutoCorrect Options' button. Click on the 'AutoFormat As You Type' tab.
3. Select any AutoFormat option you want from the 'Replace as You Type' section, including the options to replace the size of fractions, replace hyphens with a dash and replace typed Internet addresses with hyperlinks.
4. Click on the boxes in the 'Apply as You Type' section to change any preferences, including automatic bulleted lists, border lines, automatic numbered lists and built-in heading styles.
5. Make any final selection in the 'Automatically as You Type' section, including the 'Format beginning of list item like the one before it', 'Set left and first indent tabs and backspaces' and 'Define styles based on your formatting' options.
6. Close out the dialog box and the AutoFormat changes will be applied when typing in your document. Click on the 'Microsoft Office' button and then select the 'Save' option to save your changes.
