How to Change Multiple Words in Microsoft Word 2007

Selection Regions
1. Open an existing Word document, then click to the left of the first word you'd like to change. Hold down the mouse button as you perform the click.
2. Drag the mouse until the cursor reaches the right of the last word you'd like to modify.
3. Release the mouse to make Word display a selection region over the words you dragged the mouse over.
4. Click the 'Home' menu heading.
5. Click the 'B,' 'I,' or 'U' buttons in the 'Font' panel. These buttons make the multiple words you selected bold, italicized or underlined.
Replace All
6. Open an existing Word document, then click the 'Home' menu heading.
7. Click the 'Replace' button in the 'Editing' panel.
8. Type a word that appears several times in the document you opened.
9. Click the 'More' button, then click the 'Match whole word' check box. This ensures that Word replaces only words matching the word you typed.
10. Type a word you'd like to substitute for the 'Find' word in the 'Replace' text box.
11. Click the 'Replace all' button to change all instances of the 'Find' word with the 'Replace' word.
Field Codes
12. Open Word, then press 'Control' and 'N' simultaneously to create a new document.
13. Type any word, then double-click the word to select it.
14. Click the 'Insert' menu heading, then click the 'Bookmarks' button in the 'Links' panel.
15. Type any name for the bookmark, such as 'myBookmark.'
16. Click the 'Add' button to close the bookmark dialog box.

18. Click the 'Quick parts' button, followed by the 'Field' item.
19. Click the 'Ref' item in the list on the left side of the dialog box, then click the name of the bookmark you typed in step 4. This makes a field code that displays the word you typed in this section's first step.
20. Click 'OK' to insert the field code. The code displays the word you typed in Step 1.
21. Double-click The field code you just inserted, then press 'Control' and 'C' simultaneously to copy the code to the clipboard.
22. Click another part of the document, then press 'Control' and 'V' simultaneously to paste the field code. You now see three instances of the word you typed in Step 1. However, by changing just the original instance, you change all instances.
23. Make any change to the word you typed in Step 1, such as inserting new characters or deleting a character.
24. Press 'Control' and 'A' simultaneously to select all words in the document, then press 'F9' to update the field codes. Word now changes all instances of the original word.
