How to Draw in Microsoft Word 2007

1. Open Word. If a blank letter-size page does not open, click the 'File' menu and click 'Blank Document' on the 'Available Templates' screen.
2. Click the 'Insert' tab on the toolbar at the top of the screen. Click the 'Shapes' button to open the shapes drop-down menu.
3. Click the 'Scribble' tool, which looks like a swirly line and is the last option under the 'Line' section of drawing shapes.
4. Click the white space of the Word document, press and hold down the left mouse button and start drawing. When you release the mouse button, Word puts the shape you just drew inside a frame.
5. Change the color of the drawing by scrolling through the line colors in the 'Shape Styles' section of the toolbar. Click any colored line and your drawing instantly updates to the new color.
6. Pull down the 'Shape Fill' menu and click a colored box; the drawing instantly fills with color.
7. Pull down the 'Shape Effects' section and browse the options. Hover over an effect, such as soft edges, to see how it changes your drawing. Click the effect or click off the menu to return to your original shape.
8. Add preset drawing designs by clicking one of the shapes on the very left side of the toolbar under the 'Insert Shapes' section, such as an arrow, heart or star. Press and hold down your mouse button and drag the cursor. When you lift up on the mouse, the shape appears and fills in with color.
9. Click the 'File' menu, select 'Save As,' give the drawing document a name and save it to your computer.
