How to Check Sentence Spacing in Word
1. Open Microsoft Word. Start a new, blank document or open an existing file that contains spacing between sentences.
2. Choose the 'Tools' menu and click on the word 'Options' to open up the 'Options' dialog box.
3. Click on the 'Spelling & Grammar' tab that is in the 'Options' dialog box to display the Word settings pertaining to spelling and grammar.
4. Use your mouse to click the 'Settings' button on the 'Options' dialog box to open the 'Grammar Settings' dialog box.
5. Select the number of spaces you prefer to have between sentences in the drop-down menu beside 'Spaces required between sentences' in the 'Required' section of the 'Grammar Settings' dialog box. You can choose to have one or two spaces checked between sentences or you can choose to turn off this feature.
6. Press the 'OK' button to close the 'Grammar Settings' dialog box and return to the 'Options' dialog box.
7. Choose the 'OK' button once again to close Word's 'Options' dialog box and return to your Word document. You will now see a green wavy underline underneath any sentence spacing that does not meet the preference that you set. You can right-click on the green wavy line to correct the sentence spacing.
