How to Configure Overwrite Mode in Word 2007


1. Open Microsoft Word 2007.
2. Click the "Office" button, which is the button in the top-left corner that has the Microsoft Office icon on it.
3. Click the "Word Options" button at the bottom of the menu that appears.
4. Click "Advanced" in the left-hand pane.
5. Click "Use Insert key to control overtype mode" in the right-hand pane under the Editing Options header. To make the Overtype mode the default, click the check box next to "Use overtype mode." Click "OK."
