How to Change the Letterhead Border in Microsoft Word 2007

1. Open your letterhead document or template in Word 2007. Click the 'Office' button and 'Open.' Go to and open the desired file.
2. Click and hold the mouse button to select the letterhead text. This highlights the selected text.
3. Click the 'Page Layout' tab on the top of the screen, then click the 'Page Borders' icon. Find this icon in the 'Page Background' group. The 'Borders and Shading' dialog box opens.
4. Click the 'Borders' tab on the top of the dialog box screen. Click one of the options listed under 'Setting' on the left side of the screen to change the type of border used. Alternatively, you can click the image under the 'Preview' section on the right side of the screen to add or remove portions of the border. Change the appearance of the border under the 'Style,' 'Color' and 'Width' sections. Click the 'Horizontal Line' button or the 'Art' drop-down menu for additional modification options.
5. Click 'OK' to close the dialog box and return to the main screen.
6. Save the changes to your letterhead document. If the file you changed is a Word document file (DOC or DOCX), then click the 'Save' icon next to the 'Office' button on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. If you modified a document template (DOT or DOTX), you must click the 'Office' button and the arrow beside 'Save As.' Select 'Word Template' from the menu that appears and then click 'Save.'
