How to Create a Booklet Using Word
1. Open a blank document in Microsoft Word.
2. Click the 'Page Layout' tab.
3. Select 'Margins' in the 'Page Setup' group, and click 'Custom Margins.' In the 'Page Setup' dialog box, select the drop-down list for 'Multiple Pages' and choose 'Book Fold.' This automatically sets the margins and changes the page orientation to Landscape. The document will have wide margins with a center fold.
4. Begin adding content to your first page of the booklet. Add text and format it on the 'Home' tab. You can make changes to font, font size, text color, alignment and line spacing.
5. Insert graphics by clicking the 'Insert' tab. Click 'Picture' to insert a file from your computer or 'Clip Art' to insert a stock image.
6. Add more pages to the document when you are finished with the first one. Click where you want to insert it. Click the 'Insert' tab, click 'Pages' and select 'Blank Page.'
7. Continue adding content to additional pages until you've completed the booklet.
8. Save the file by clicking the 'Microsoft Office Button, Save as.'
9. Click 'Microsoft Office Button, Print.' Make sure the printer is filled with paper and connected to the computer. Select your installed printer in the 'Print' dialog box.
10. Determine if you want the booklet to be printed on both sides of the paper. If so, and if your printer supports duplex printing, follow your printer's instruction manual to print on both sides. Otherwise, click 'Manual Duplex.' With this enabled, Word will print all the pages on one side of the paper and then prompt to turn the pages over.
11. Set any other print options, such as page range and number of copies. Click 'Print.'
12. Fold the pages in half along the center fold to form the booklet once they come out of the printer.
