How to Recover an Overwritten Microsoft Word File


1. Click the 'Start' menu on the lower left of your desktop and click 'Run.' Type 'winword /a' without the quotes into the search bar.
2. Click 'Enter' and locate the your Word file in the following menu and attempt to open it.
3. Open your Microsft Word application, click 'Insert' in the upper menu of your document and click 'File.' Select your document and select 'Insert' to open it in the new file.
4. Find the document saved onto your computer, right click on it and select 'Open With...' Locate WordPad and open your document with that application, then copy and paste the new document into a Microsoft Word file.
