How to Add More Than 25 Items in a Drop Box in Word

Open a new Word document, then click the 'Microsoft Office' button.

Click the 'Word Options' menu at the bottom. A pop-out window will show the Word Options dialog box.

Select the 'Popular' option on the dialog box and on its right display pane look for the 'Top Options' menu.

Under the 'Top Options,' check the box right beside the 'Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon' and click 'OK' This will enable and show the developer tab in your Word toolbar.

Go to the 'Developer' tab in your Word toolbar and look for the 'Controls' menu.

On the left display pane of the 'Controls' menu, hover on the icons to display tool tips, then look for the 'Drop-Down List' icon and click it.

You should now see a drop box on top of your document. By default, it shows the embedded words 'Choose an item.' Highlight the drop box or simply click the embedded words 'Choose an item.'

Go to the 'Developer' tab on the Word toolbar and click the 'Properties' option that you'll see on the right display pane of the 'Controls' menu. (You cannot click the 'Properties' option if the drop box is not highlighted or selected on your document).

You should see the 'Content Control Properties' dialog box now. Click the 'Add...' option on the dialog box.
10. You should now see the 'Add Choice' dialog box. On the dialog box, fill out the 'Display Name' with the choice or option that you want to show on the drop box, then click 'OK.' (By default, whatever you enter on the 'Display Name' is automatically displayed on 'Value' box.)
11. You can edit the 'Value' box, enter your own list or value and click 'OK.' (For example, my 'Display Name' is 'apple' and my corresponding 'Value' for it is one point.]
12. Repeat steps 12 and 13 to add more items. You can add 25 or more items and then click 'OK' on the 'Content Control Properties' dialog box when you're done.
13. Click the arrow on your drop-box to see the options you've listed, double-check it and save the document.
