How to Insert a Watermark in Microsoft Word 2003


1. Add a text watermark. Click on “Format” and then select “Background.” In the menu that opens select the radial button for “Text Watermark.”
2. Choose text watermark properties. Click on the text field and enter in the desired text. Click on the font dropdown menu and select the desired font size. In the color palette you can choose the desired watermark font color. Use the radio buttons at the bottom of the menu to select the orientation of the text. Check or uncheck the “Semitransparent” box as desired. Click “Apply” to implement the watermark.
3. Add a picture watermark. Click on the “Format” tab and then select “Background.” From the submenu that opens choose “Printed Watermark.” Then select the radial button for “Picture Watermark.”
4. Select the picture. Click on the “Select Picture” button to browse and select a picture for the watermark. Use the “Scale” dropdown menu to choose a picture scale size. Check or uncheck the “Washout” box as desired. Click “Apply” to implement the picture watermark.
