How to Print Labels With MS Office


Using Word
1. Open Microsoft Word and click the 'File' tab at the top-left of the screen. Choose 'New.' Double-click the 'Labels' button. Double-click a labels file folder, such as 'Office labels.' Scroll through the label template designs and double-click a label to open a new Word document window with a full page of the labels.
2. Click into the top-left label on the page. Type over the placeholder words with business or organization information for the label.
3. Click once on the placeholder graphic included on the label and press the 'Delete' key. Add a new image such as a logo by clicking the 'Insert' tab, selecting 'Picture,' browsing to the graphic and double-clicking it. It appears on the label.
4. Highlight the new text and picture. Right-click and select 'Copy.' Click into the next label on the page. Highlight the placeholder text and picture. Right-click and select 'Paste' to paste the new label information. Repeat to paste the label into all of the other labels on the page.
5. Click the 'File' tab. Select 'Save As.' Type a name for the label sheet and save it to the computer.
Using Publisher
6. Open Microsoft Publisher and click the 'Labels' button under the 'Most Popular' section in the 'Available Templates' screen. Scroll through the label options or double-click an 'All' folder for more designs. Double-click a label to open it on the Publisher workspace.
7. Highlight and replace text on the label as preferred.
8. Replace the graphic on the label by clicking the picture and pressing the 'Delete' key. Select the 'Insert' tab and click the 'Picture' button. Navigate to the image you want to use and double-click it to add it to the label.
9. Click the 'File' tab, select 'Save As,' give the label a name and save it to the computer.
Printing the Labels
10. Click the 'File' tab from either program and select 'Print.' The 'Print' window opens.
11. Turn on the printer and load in the label paper. Check the print tray to determine whether to load the paper face up or down.
12. Click up the 'Copies of print job' box to specify the number of pages of labels to print. Click the 'Print' button.
