How to Remove a Vertical Line in Word 2007

1. Click on the vertical line that you want to remove. If you can select the line -- in other words, if a small circle appears on each end -- then press 'Delete' on your keyboard.
2. Click anywhere in the paragraph next to the vertical line -- or, if the vertical line extends farther than a paragraph, select the whole section of text located along the line. Click the 'Home' tab on the Ribbon. Check the 'Border' icon in the lower right corner of the Paragraph group; if the button is orange, then click the the downward arrow for the drop-down menu and select 'No Border.'
3. Click the 'Review' tab on the Ribbon, then click the 'Accept' icon or the 'Reject' button. On the drop-down menu, click the bottom option to accept all changes or reject all changes in the document. This will incorporate or delete any tracked changes left in your document, thereby removing the vertical lines that marked where the changes existed.
