How to Move an Image in an MS Word Document
Move Inline Images
1. Select the image you want to move in Word 2007.
2. Select the 'Home' tab and go to the 'Paragraph' group.
3. Click the 'Center' button to center the image or the 'Align Text Right' button to right-justify it.
4. Place the insertion point directly before or after the image, then press 'Enter' to keep the image on its own line.
Edit Wrapping Style
5. Right-click the image in the document.
6. Select 'Text Wrapping,' then 'More Layout Options' from the pop-up menu. The 'Text Wrapping' tab is in the 'Advanced Layout' dialog box.
7. Select 'Square,' 'Tight' or 'Through' to wrap text around the image.
8. Select 'Top and bottom' to display the image between text on its own line.
9. Select 'Behind text' to move the image to the background, behind any existing text on the page.
10. Select 'In front of text' to move the image to the foreground, above any existing text.
11. Go to the 'Wrap text' section to specify how text displays around the image once it's moved.
12. Adjust 'Distance from text' to set the spacing between the text and the image.
13. Click the 'Picture Position' tab to customize the image's horizontal and vertical alignment on a page.
14. Deselect 'Move object with text' to allow the image to move freely and click 'OK.'
Move Image After Wrapping
15. Select the image you want to move by clicking on it.
16. Use the mouse to drag it to where you want it to appear on the page.
17. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the selected image to the left, right, top or bottom of the page.
