How to Convert WordPerfect Files to Word or Open Office

Using OpenOffice.org 3 Writer
1. Click 'File' in the top menu bar and select 'Open.'
2. Locate your WordPerfect document in the resulting file window and open it by double-clicking its icon.
3. Click 'File' again and select 'Save As.'
4. Give the file a name and select a save location.
5. Click the 'Save as type' drop-down menu and choose 'ODF Text Document (.odt)' to save the file in OpenOffice format. To save the file in Word format, choose the 'Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP' option instead.
6. Click 'Save' to perform the conversion.
Using Zamzar
7. Open a web browser and navigate to the Zamzar website (see 'Resources').
8. Click 'Choose File,' locate your WordPerfect document and select it by double-clicking its icon.
9. Click the adjacent drop-down menu and choose 'odt' to convert the file to OpenOffice format. To convert the file to Word format, choose the 'doc' option instead.
10. Enter your email address in the corresponding field.
11. Click 'Convert.' Your document will be converted to the selected format within minutes. Once the conversion finishes, a download link will be sent to the email address you provided.
