How to Make Calling Cards Using Microsoft Word
1. Open Word and click “File,” then click “New.” When the “New Document” panel opens on the right side of the screen, click the “Templates on Office Online” link, which opens the Microsoft Office Online site where you can download free calling card templates.
2. Click the “Print business cards” link, then scroll through the preset design options such as waves, stripes, dots and rainbows. Click an image, then click the “Download” button. Depending on your computer’s speed, it may take a few moments to open the file in your Word workspace.
3. (Optional) Click inside the top-left card, then click “Insert,” “Picture” and “From File.” Browse to a photo or image you want to add to the calling card, then double-click it so it opens on the card. Shrink it to your preferred size.
4. Type over the preset placeholder text with your own personal contact information. Highlight the text, then use the text toolbar at the top of the screen to change the font, style and colors.
5. Highlight the entire calling card (text and image if applicable) and press the “Ctrl” and “C” keys on your keyboard to copy the information. Then, highlight the next card in the row and paste your information directly on top of it by pressing “Ctrl” and “V.” Repeat so your calling cards replace all of the preset ones on the template.
6. (Optional) Give your calling cards a colored background by pulling down the “Format” menu at the top of the screen, then choosing “Background.” Click a colored square to change the entire background of the cards to that color. Click the “Fill Effects” link to give your cards a patterned background such as tye-dye, sunrise or waterfall.
