How to Remove Font Corruptions in Word

Removing the Corrupted Font
1. Click the 'Start' button and navigate to the 'Control Panel.'
2. Select the 'Fonts' folder and search for the corrupted file. Open Microsoft Word and check the name of the font if you forget what it is called.
3. Right-click on the font and select 'Delete.' Exit out of the 'Fonts' folder and 'Control Panel.'
Installing a New Font
4. Go to a free font website such as Font Maniac (see 'References'). Type the name of the font into the search bar.
5. Click the font and select 'Download This Font.' Select the 'Open with' radio button, and choose a file decompression program to unzip the file. Click 'OK.'
6. Unzip the file. Right-click on the font icon and select 'Copy.' Go to the 'Fonts' folder in the 'Control Panel' and paste the font into the folder. The font will be listed the next time you start Word.
