How to Stretch Text in Microsoft Word

1. Highlight within Microsoft Word the section of text you want stretched.
2. Select the 'Home' tab, located near the top-left corner of the program window.
3. Click the double-headed arrow located at the bottom-right corner of the 'Font' section within the resulting menu bar.
4. Select the 'Advanced' tab located at the top of the Font dialog box if you use Word 2010. In Word 2007, select the 'Character Spacing' tab instead.
5. Enter the amount you want Word to stretch the text, as a percentage value (e.g., '150%'), within the 'Scale' field.
6. Click 'OK' to confirm the change. The section of text you highlighted in Step 1 is stretched immediately.
