How to Make Labels in Word

1. Purchase paper for labels at any office supply store. Note the code that is labeled on the package such as Avery 8663. You will need this code to find the appropriate template in Microsoft Word.
2. Open a new document in Microsoft Word. Go to the 'Mailings' tab and click on 'Labels'.
3. Go to the 'Labels' tab in the Envelopes and Labels window. Click on the 'Options' button. Choose the vendor in the 'Label vendors' drop down menu. Scroll down to the correct Product number and select it. In our example, we would choose Avery US Letter and select 8663. Click 'OK.'
4. Type the contents of your label in the Address text box. In the Print section, select the appropriate radio button: 'Full page of the same label' or 'Single label.' If you select 'Full page of the same label,' click on the 'New Document' button, which will generate a page full of the same labels. If you select the 'Single label' option, you can click on the 'Print' button to print out the label.
