How to Make 3 X 5 Note Cards With Microsoft Word
1. Adjust the margins on the Word document so they are 0.8 inches on the top and bottom and 3.75 inches on the right and left side.
2. Insert a 1 x 3 table (one column with three rows.)
3. Highlight the entire table so all three rows are selected.
4. Right click on the table and select 'Table Properties.'
5. Click on the 'Row' tab. Click on the box next to 'Specify height.' Enter a 3 into the first box. After it says 'Row height is:' select 'exactly' versus 'at least' Uncheck the box next to where it says 'Allow row to break across pages.'
6. Click on the 'Column' tab. Change the preferred width so it reads 5 inches.
7. Click 'OK' at the bottom.
8. Copy and paste the original table if you need more than three cards.
9. Type in or design your index cards as desired.
10. Print your cards on card stock. If you want to remove the lines before printing, right click on the table and select 'Borders and Shading.' Under borders, select 'None.' You may want to leave the lines between the rows to guide where to cut.
11. Cut the cards so they measure 3 inches by 5 inches.
