How to Insert a Callout Column in Word 2007
Creating a Column
1. Click on the "Page Layout" tab at the top of the screen.
2. Click on the "Columns" icon.
3. Click on the type of column layout you would like from the drop-down menu. If you already have text in your document it will be rearranged into a column.
Creating a Callout in Columns
4. Click on the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen.
5. Click on the "Shapes" icon. This icon looks like different shaped building blocks and is located on the left side of the Insert menu.
6. Click on the shape of callout you would like from the drop-down menu. Drag the shape to your callout column.
7. Click on the callout and type in your text.
