How to Convert a WPD File to Windows Office


1. Open Microsoft Office on your computer.
2. Click the “Microsoft Office Button.” Click “Open.” This will launch the “Open” dialog box.
3. Make sure “All Files” is selected next to the “File Name” box. Browse to select your WPD file from your computer. Click “Open.”
4. Click the “Microsoft Office” button. Select “Word Options.”
5. Click the “Advanced” tab. Scroll down to “Compatibility Options.” If your document was created in WordPerfect 5.x or 6.x, select the corresponding program under “Lay out this document as if it was created in.” Under the “Show Document Content” section on the “Advanced” tab, click “Font Substitution” to choose which fonts to use.
6. Click “Save As.” Rename the file. Click the “Save As Type” list to make sure it will save as a .doc file extension. Click “Save.”
