How to Install a Microsoft Word Macro
1. Open Word and click 'File' and then 'Open' to open the File Selection window. Select the Word template document that contains the macro that you received. Click 'Open' to open that file and return to Word's main screen.
2. Click 'File' and then 'Options' to open the Options window.
3. Click 'Customize Ribbon' and put a checkmark next to 'Developer' in the 'Customize the Ribbon' panel. This will show the Developer panel in the main ribbon. Click 'OK' to close the window and return to Word's main screen.
4. Click 'Developer' at the top of the screen. The Macros window will open.
5. Click 'Organizer' to open the Organizer window. This window consists of two panels. The panel on the left shows the macros embedded in the template document.
6. Click the macros that you want to install to select them.
7. Click 'Copy.' This will transfer those macros to the other panel named 'In Normal.dotm.'
8. Click 'Close' to close the window.
9. Click 'Macros' at the top of the main Word screen to verify that the new macros are visible in the Macros window.
