How to Stop MS Office From Configuring
Changing the Start Menu
1. Right-click on the 'Start' menu and select 'Properties.'
2. Click on the 'Start Menu' tab.
3. Click 'Classic Start Menu' and then click 'OK.' You should now be able to access Microsoft Office by selecting it from the Start menu.
Using Run
4. Click on the 'Start' menu.
5. Type 'Run' into the Search Programs and Files box and press 'Enter.' The Run box opens.
6. If you have Microsoft Office 2003 installed, type 'reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1' into the Run box and click 'OK.'If you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed, type 'reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1' into the Run box and click 'OK.'If you have both versions of Microsoft Office installed, type both commands, one at a time.
7. Restart your computer.
