How to Add Graphic Borders to Word Documents
Adding a graphic border in Word 2003
1. Open the document you wish to add a graphic border to, or create a new Word document. Click 'Format' in the main menu. Click 'Borders and Shading', then select the 'Page Border' tab.
2. Select to add an artistic border in the 'Art' box. Choose from among the border options under 'Settings.'
3. Specify the orientation and location of the border by clicking 'Custom' within the 'Settings' section. Select the orientation of the border under the 'Apply to' options list.
4. Click 'Apply' and 'OK' to add your changes, then save your document. To preview the new border, select 'File', then 'Print layout view.'

5. Open the document you wish to add a graphic border to, or create a new Word document. Select the 'Page Layout' tab from the Ribbon at the top of the Word window.
6. Click the 'Page Borders' button in the 'Page Background' menu group. Select the type of border you want in the 'Settings' column. Click the 'Art' drop-down list (at the bottom of the middle column of controls) and select the graphic you like most.
7. Click the 'Options...' button (in the lower-right corner) to specify further options such as margin spacing. Click 'OK' to apply your changes. Save your document and preview the changes by clicking the 'Office' button in the top-left corner, hovering over the 'Print' choice, and selecting 'Print Preview'.
