How to Create Postcards in Word

1. Open Microsoft Word. Click the 'Microsoft Office Button' and select 'New.'
2. Type 'Postcard' in the 'Search' field at the top of the 'New Document' window. This will bring up all the postcard templates available for download.
3. Browse through the templates to choose one you like. Certain templates will be meant for use with a certain type of paper (such as Avery products), and some will offer a layout with the front and back of the postcard. The template you choose will depend on the specific layout and theme you are interested in.
4. Select your template of choice and click 'Download.' The template will be inserted into a new document.
5. Begin customizing the postcard template. Select a text box and replace the text with your own content.
6. Highlight the text and make changes to the attributes, including font, font size, color and alignment. Access all the text attributes on the 'Home' tab.
7. Replace the postcard images with your own---perhaps a business or personal logo. Select a template image and click the 'Insert' tab. Under 'Illustrations, click 'Picture' to insert an image from your computer. Click 'Clip Art' to insert a Word clip art image.
8. Edit the content and make any other changes as needed. Use the 'Page Layout' tab to change indents and spacing or add page borders if you want.
9. Click the 'Microsoft Office Button,' and select 'Print.' In the 'Print dialog box, select your installed printer. Make sure the correct paper is set up in the printer. Click 'Print.' If the postcard has two pages to it (front and back), print the first page only. Flip the paper and print the second page. Print a test before making multiple copies.
