How Do I Allow Editable Regions in an MS Word Document?

1. Open the Word document in which you want to create specific editable sections. Go to the 'Tools' menu in Word 2003 and select 'Protect Document.' Go to the 'Review' tab in Word 2007 and click 'Protect Document.' Go to the 'Review' tab in Word 2010 and click 'Restrict Editing.' The 'Protect Document' task pane will open.
2. Select the 'Allow Only This Type of Editing in the Document' check box under 'Editing Restrictions' in the task pane. Select 'Filling in Forms.'
3. Click 'Select Sections' and select only the check boxes of the sections you want to protect.
4. Click the 'Yes, Start Enforcing Protection' button.
5. Type a password to protect the document into the 'Enter New Password' box and enter it again in the 'Confirm Password' box. This will keep users from changing the protection settings in the document while allowing them to change selected sections.
