How to Make a Banner on Microsoft Word 2007


1. Open Microsoft Word. Select the 'Page Layout' tab. Click 'Orientation' and select 'Landscape.'
2. On the same 'Page Layout' tab, click 'Size.' You can choose from the given list of standard paper size options. To enter a custom size for your paper, click the 'More Paper Sizes' link and a dialog box will appear. In the 'Paper Size' drop-down menu, choose 'Custom Size' and enter the custom width and height of your paper. Click 'OK.'
3. Customize the background and border of your banner. Go to the 'Page Background' section of the 'Page Layout' tab. If you want to change the color of your banner background, select 'Page Color' and choose a color. To add a border to your banner, click 'Page Borders.' Select the style, thickness and color of your border to suit your needs.
4. Add the text of your banner. Select the 'Insert' tab. In the 'Text' section, choose 'WordArt' which will add a decorative text to your banner. Click the style of WordArt you wish to use. In the dialog box that pops up, enter the font style and size you want as well as your banner text. Click 'OK.' Select your WordArt text and then go to the 'Format' tab to add more customized effects.
5. Add decorative clipart or images to your banner. Go to the 'Insert' tab and navigate to the 'Illustrations' section. To insert a photo into your banner, click 'Picture' and select the photo file on your computer that you wish to use. If you click 'ClipArt,' you can insert stock images, illustrations and artwork that Microsoft provides with Word 2007. You can search for ClipArt that conveys the concept or idea behind your banner.
