How to Make Printable Bookmarks in Microsoft Word
1. Open Microsoft Word by double-clicking the Word shortcut icon on your desktop, or by clicking 'Start,' pointing to 'Programs' or 'All Programs' and then finding Word in your Programs list. Open a new, blank document.
2. Click 'File' on the toolbar and then click 'Page Setup.' Under 'Orientation,' click 'Landscape' and then 'OK,'
3. Click the 'Columns' button on the Standard toolbar. The 'Columns' button looks like two side-by-side columns of horizontal lines or dashes. Choose from one to four columns (each column will be a bookmark). Your cursor will be placed in the first column.
4. Click 'Insert' on the toolbar and point to 'Picture.' Choose between the options presented. For example, you can use Clip Art, a picture saved on your computer, or Word Art. Find and insert the desired picture and format it to the size and shape you want it to be on your bookmark.
5. Insert a text box on top of your picture if desired by clicking 'Insert' and then choosing 'Text Box.' You can then add a phrase or quote to your bookmark. Repeat with the remaining columns, and print onto your card stock.
