How to Install Only Word in Office 2003
1. Close all programs before beginning the installation.
2. Place the Office 2003 disk into your disk drive. Your computer should automatically read the disk. If it doesn't, click 'Start' and then 'Computer.' Right-click your disk drive and select 'Explore.' Navigate through the files and double-click 'Setup.exe.'
3. Enter the 25-digit product key into the Setup box. This key is located on a sticker on the back of your CD case or on the Certificate of Authenticity. Click the 'Next' button.
4. Enter your personal information into the fields. This step is optional and may be skipped. Click 'Next.'
5. Accept the End User License Agreement by checking the box to agree to the terms. This explains how you may use the software and is not negotiable. Click 'Next' to proceed.
6. Click 'Custom Install' and select the plus symbol next to 'Microsoft Word.' Select the features in Microsoft Word. This step will allow you to adapt the installation to install only Microsoft Word and its features. Click the 'Next' button.
7. Use the 'Back' button to change the installation options listed on the screen. This describes what programs and features will be installed. Click 'Install' to begin the installation process. This may take up to an hour.
8. Click the box next to 'Check the Web for Updates and Additional Downloads' to make sure Word is up to date.
9. Click 'Finish' and download the updates for Microsoft Word. When you are finished, open Word and follow the steps to register your program.
