How to Convert a PDF to Word Software
Adobe Acrobat
1. Download an Adobe Acrobat PDF writing program. All three versions of Acrobat---Standard, Pro and Pro Extended---have a feature that allows you to convert PDF files directly to Word software. While popular, the Adobe PDF writing programs are also expensive (from $99 to $700). Prior to making a purchase, consider the free trial of Pro (see Resources section).
2. Open the PDF document that you want to convert to Word software. Click the 'File' menu and select the 'Open' option. Find the folder in which the PDF document is saved using the 'Look in' menu. Click once on the PDF file name and once on the 'Open' button.
3. Convert the PDF document to Word software. Click the 'Export' button to launch a list of available export file options. Click the 'Word' document option. This action will launch a separate 'Save As' window. Use the 'Save In' menu to select a folder in which to save the converted PDF document. Note that the 'Files of Type' field is set to 'Word Document.' Type a name for the Word file in the 'File Name' field and click the 'Save' button to complete the conversion of the PDF file to Word software.

4. Download the Foxit PDF writing program. A less expensive alternative to other commercial PDF writing programs (about $20), you may use Foxit to convert a PDF file to Word software. You can download the software from the Foxit website.
5. Open the PDF document that you want to convert to Word software. Click the 'File' menu and select the 'Open' option. Find the folder in which the PDF document is saved using the 'Look In' menu. Click once on the PDF file name and once on the 'Open' button.
6. Convert the PDF file to a text file. Select the 'Save As' option from the 'File' menu. Use the 'Save as Type' menu to select the 'Text' file option. Choose a folder in which to save the text file using the 'Save In' menu. Type a name for the text file in the 'File Name' field and click the 'Save' button.
7. Open the text file in Word software. Select the 'Open' option after clicking the 'Microsoft Office' button. Use the arrows on the address bar to locate the folder in which the text file from Step 3 was saved. Click the file name and then the 'Open' button.
8. Save the file in Word software. Select the 'Save As' option after clicking the 'Microsoft Office' button. Use the arrows on the address bar to locate a folder in which to save the Word software file. Type a name for the Word file in the 'File name' field and click the 'Save' button to complete the process of converting the PDF to Word software.

9. Download the PDFill PDF writing program. Available as a free download, you may use PDFill to convert a PDF file to Word software. You can download the software from the PDFill website.
10. Open the PDF document that you want to convert to Word software. Click the 'File' menu and select the 'Open' option. Find the folder in which the PDF document is saved using the 'Look In' menu. Click once on the PDF file name and once on the 'Open' button.
11. Convert the PDF file to a text file. Select the 'Save As' option from the 'File' menu. Use the 'Save as Type' menu to select the 'Text' file option. Choose a folder in which to save the text file using the 'Save In' menu. Type a name for the text file in the 'File Name' field and click the 'Save' button.
12. Open the text file in Word software. Select the 'Open' option after clicking the 'Microsoft Office' button. Use the arrows on the address bar to locate the folder in which the text file from Step 3 was saved. Click the file name and then the 'Open' button.
13. Save the file in Word software. Select the 'Save As' option after clicking the 'Microsoft Office' button. Use the arrows on the address bar to locate a folder in which to save the Word software file. Type a name for the Word file in the 'File Name' field and click the 'Save' button to complete the process of converting the PDF to Word software.
