How to View HTML Code in Word 2007


Confirm File Format Conversions Method
1. Open Word and a new document. Click on the “Microsoft Office” button in the upper left corner of the screen. Click “Word Options” at the bottom right corner of the drop-down menu.
2. Click on "Advanced" in the left task pane and the right task pane changes to show the “Advanced Options for Working with Word” list. Scroll down the list until you see the General area (toward the bottom of the list.) Check the "Confirm File Format Conversion on Open" checkbox. Click "OK."
3. Click on the “Microsoft Office” button and then click “Open.” Navigate to the Web page file name you want to view and double-click the file name.
4. Select "Plain Text" from the Convert File dialog box and click "OK." The file appears as a plain text file with the HTML code.

5. Open Word and a new document. Click on the “Microsoft Office” button, and then click “Word Options.”
6. Click on "Customize" in the left task pane. The right task pane changes to show commands you can add to the Quick Access toolbar. In the Choose Commands From drop-down field, click on "Commands Not in the Ribbon."
7. Scroll down the list of commands and select "Web Page Preview.” Click the "Add" button and then click "OK." The Quick Access Toolbar now shows the Web Page Preview button.
Using the Web Page Preview Method
8. Open Word and the Word document in which you want to see the code.
9. Click on the “Web Page Preview” button in the Quick Access Toolbar. This brings up the document in your default Web page browser.
10. Click on “View,” and then “Source” in Internet Explorer to see the HTML code. In Mozilla Firefox, click on “View,” and then “Page Source.”
