How to Create a Running Head in Microsoft Word 2003
Create a Running Head of Text
1. Open a new or existing document in Microsoft Word 2003.
2. Click “View” followed by “Header and Footer.” The header section will appear.
3. Type the header you want each page to contain in the header area. Then click the “Close” button in the Header and Footer toolbar.
Create a Running Head of Page Numbers
4. Select “Insert” from the menu bar and choose “Page Numbers.”
5. Change the position to “Top of page (Header)” and choose your alignment. To hide the header on the first page, remove the check mark by “Show number on first page.” Otherwise, leave it checked.
6. Click “OK” to add the page numbers in your Word document.
