How to Make the Square Root Sign on Word 2007


1. Open Word 2007 and click the 'Insert' tab. Click the 'Equation' button in the Symbols group.
2. Click 'Insert New Equation.' A blank equation box will appear in the Word document. Review the newly added Equation Tools tab on the ribbon. Click the 'Radical' button and select the 'Square Root' button. The square root sign will appear in the document.
3. Click the dotted box inside the sign and add the number that will be represented in the square root equation. Click away from the box to save the update.
