How to Open DOCX in Windows 97

1. Open your web browser and navigate to the Microsoft Download Center.
2. Type 'Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack' into the search bar at the top of the window. Press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard.
3. Click this option in the search results page: 'Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats.'
4. Click the 'Download' button at the top of the 'Quick Detail' box. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the program. Test the compatibility by opening a .docx in Word 97.
