How to Convert a Word 2007 Document to Word 2002 to be Printed

1. Go to the location on your computer where you saved a Word 2007 document. This may be on the desktop or in a folder.
2. Right click on the Word 2007 document and select 'Rename.' This creates a text box where you can change the document's name.
3. Add '.doc' to the end of the file name. For example, 'FileX' or 'FileX.docx' is now 'FileX.doc.' That's called a 'doc file' for short. Word 2002 opens doc files for printing. The formatting remains the same.
4. Save as 'Word 97 - 2003 Document' under 'Save as type:' to convert an existing Word 2007 document into a version that prints for a user with Word 2002. This saves the document created in Word 2007 as version compatible with previous Word versions.
