How to Make a Restaurant Menu Using Microsoft Word

1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. Click the 'File' tab (Word 2010) or the 'Microsoft Office Button' (Word 2007). Click 'New.'
3. Type 'menu' in the search bar at the top of the window. Click the arrow on the right to load all the available menu templates.
4. Browse through the menu templates. There are a variety of menu designs of different themes. Some are just one page; others are folded like a brochure.
5. Select the menu template that best suits your style and needs. Click 'Download' to open it in a new document.
6. Select each line of text or text box. For instance, start with the restaurant title. Highlight the text and type the title of your restaurant. Fill in the menu with all the information you want to include about your restaurant, each section of the menu, menu item names, descriptions and prices.
7. Change the text attributes of the template if you prefer. It's likely the colors and fonts will match the menu, so you may not need to change anything. If you do, highlight the text you want to change. Click the 'Home' tab. In the 'Font' group, make any necessary changes to font, font size, and color.
8. Delete any extra sample text you don't need.
9. Click the 'File' tab or 'Microsoft Office Button,' then 'Save' to save the menu document.
10. Connect a printer to your computer to prepare to print the document. Feed the printer with the paper you want to use.
11. Click the 'File' tab or 'Microsoft Office Button,' then 'Print.' Select your installed printer. If the menu is only one page, click 'Print' and await your printed menu. If it's brochure-style, click 'Manual Duplex,' then click 'Print.' Word will print the first page, then prompt you to turn the page over before printing the second side.
