How to Create a Poster With Microsoft Word
1.
Start Microsoft Word. Go to the 'File' menu in Word 2003 or earlier and select 'Page Setup.' In Word 2007, go to the 'Page Layout' tab and click the 'Page Setup' dialog launcher in the bottom right corner of the Page Setup group.
2.
Go to the 'Margins' tab and set all of the margins to '0.5'. Go to the 'Paper' tab and enter the correct paper size. Click 'OK' to apply the changes.
3.
Open the page header by going to the 'View' menu in Word 2003 or earlier and selecting 'Header and Footer.' Go to the 'Insert' tab in Word 2007 and select 'Header.'
4.
Insert a clip art or graphic from file into the header by clicking the type of file on the 'Insert' tab or menu. The picture will be the background of the poster. Drag the image to fit the entire page. Right click it and select 'Format Picture.' Select 'Behind Text' on the Layout tab and click 'OK.' Close the header.
5.
Select a large, legible font. Click the 'Center' button to align the text. Type in the text for the poster, and then print it.
