How to Change the Default Email in Microsoft Products


Windows XP
1. Open Internet Explorer and click on 'Tools.' A drop-down menu will appear.
2. Click on 'Internet Options.'
3. Select the 'Programs' tab.
4. Choose the email program that you want to set as the default from the drop-down list.
5. Click on 'Apply' and 'OK' to confirm your selection.
Windows Vista and 7
6. Click on the 'Start' button to pull up the Start menu and click on 'Default Programs.'
7. Click on 'Set your default programs.'
8. Select your email program on the list and click on 'Set this program as default.' Click on 'OK' to confirm your choice.
9. Click on 'Set program access and computer defaults.'
10. Select 'Custom' and click on the downward-pointing arrow.
11. Scroll down to 'Choose a default e-mail program' and select it.
12. Click on 'OK' to confirm your selection.
