How to Edit Normal.Dotm in Word 2007

1. Open Microsoft Word 2007 and click on the 'Microsoft Office Button' in the top-left corner of the ribbon. Click 'Open' from the menu and then click 'Templates' in the 'Look In' task pane on the left. The center section in the dialog box changes to what templates you have.
2. Select 'Normal.dotm,' and then click the 'Open Button' at the bottom of the dialog box. The Normal.dotm appears as a blank document in your screen and the Word title bar at the top should show Normal.dotm. Make the formatting changes you want such as margins, font, font size and line spacing.
3. Click on the 'Microsoft Office Button' and click 'Save' to save your changes to the Normal.dotm template. Click on the 'Microsoft Office Button' and click 'Close' to close the Normal.dotm. If you type text and save in the Normal.dotm document, the text you typed will appear in all future documents.
4. Open Microsoft Word and a new document. The new document reflects the document settings.
