How to Change Endnotes Numbering in Word

1. Start Microsoft Word 2007 and open a document from your files that you would like to insert endnotes into with non-standard numbering.
2. Select the 'References' tab at the top of the Word 2007 screen to display the References ribbon.
3. Locate the 'Footnotes' section and click the small arrow icon at the very bottom right corner to open the Footnote and Endnote dialog box.
4. Choose the 'Endnotes' radio button.
5. Type in a new value or use the small arrows to change the value in the 'Start At' text box. Whatever you enter in this text box will become the new starting value for the numbering of the endnotes.
6. Decide if you want to keep the endnote numbering continuous, start it at a new section or start it at a new page by making a selection from the 'Numbering' drop-down list.
7. Click the 'Apply' button to apply the changes to future endnotes or the 'Insert' button to immediately insert a new endnote reflecting the new numbering.
